The Carolina Hotel

Notice: there may be some punctual errors, this is a long article. Thankyou!
The Carolina Hotel

The Carolina Hotel is within the well known, historic old town resort of Pinehurst, NC, and is a very notable resort to house the professional golfers who come and tour in the area. Completed in 1900, the Carolina, dubbed "The Queen of the South", is a #1 golf resort in North Carolina and is the top-five golf resorts to go to according to Golf Magazine Premium Platinum Choice, and is the most famous, most memorable, and most valuable golf resort in the US, and houses players of the US Open and from people all over the world.

I have gone here many times, mostly for one reason: The Festival of Trees, located in the 2nd basement of the hotel. They usually have it during the seasons, around after Thanksgiving, or in mid-November. That's where they display trees in the basement of the Carolina Hotel. They auction trees that people win on, or if you are interested in buying a tree you like, you can fill out a short form saying you agree to buying the tree and keep what goes with it. They have around 20-30 trees there, and all of them are unique each year. You'll have to go there and see what types there are. If you bring your kids, they have a Santa who comes here and asks what the kids want for Christmas, individually, and then gives them a candy cane and a little toy. It's really nice with the way they thought it through to do this annually. Some of the trees there are actually really funny, when they set up the trees with humorous decorations. They also display wreaths if you don't think about looking at just trees.

The Hotel is a very elegant, beautiful, and massive for when the time it was built, and still is. I like this hotel because of the way it was built, it's a historic gem of the South. It has a very beautiful copper roof, which stands out as you drive towards or pass by it.  It's Porte-cochére is Grande-like as you pull up to it.  It has people who take your bags, help you out, and treats everyone like they're all VIPs. It's the details they put into this place that I really admire.

Here, they host exclusive events and parties. They have a Grand Ballroom to host weddings, a huge conference room, and gym, a spa, a pool that's indoor and an outdoor. They also have a chess room, Internet Cafe, dining rooms such as the Ryder Cup Lounge, The Carolina Dining Room, Carolina Coffee Shop and other things to do. There's also a carriage at the end of the hallway when you enter the area of where  the rooms are. The hotel is mixed with historic and modern features. The reception desk is modern and next to it is a digital TV that shows the info of the hotel, like what you see at a Marriott. The rooms are very expensive and sometimes really small. Each room is set up uniquely to their own desire. The rooms go from a regular standard room all the way to the executive Presidential Suite, which go from up to $6k a night. You can get special packages and offers like $349 for two at a regular room with dinner, breakfast, and a round of golf included. Amenities are free to the guests who stay here. It was designed in the form of a T, so that everyone's room has plentiful amount of fresh air and sunshine.  On it's opening, the hotel had 250 rooms, and 49 suites.

My friend works there at the receptionists desk, Lucy. She's a really nice lady. Say hi to her when you walk in, if she's there at the same time you are. The service is outstanding and the staff really enjoy their jobs alot. The comfort setting of the lobby is well-mannered. In Pinehurst, they display the Concours d'Elegance each year, which is where they display classic, old, vintage, super, sport, exotic, and rare cars. It's on the Green on the No. 2 golfcourse, and it's all spread out. My brother and I tried to go when we had the chance to, but it got rained out, and they had to cancel it. It was such a bummer, knowing that we both love cars, and we're really excited about going.  They do it annually, though, so we'll go try to see it next year, if it's not rained out next year.

The town this hotel is in is a very, very quaint, picturesque, charming little New English styled village in the real heart of Pinehurst.  Everything in that town is uniquely styled, crafty, special, historic, and beautiful. My favorite place to eat there is Tenya, a Japanese stakehouse with really good sushi and great Udon Tempora Soba soup. The town is surrounded by neighborly towns beloved by each other. All the surrounding areas are very relaxed, which I recommend (if you do go and check out Pinehurst) to and see the friendly, peaceful, relaxed towns of Southern Pines, Carthage, Aberdeen, Whispering Pines, Robbins, Cary, Cameron, Seagrove, Springlake, and other little communities.

Pinehurst also hosts the annual U.S. Kids Golf tournament. It's where kids under the age of 8 compete kids from all over the world to receive a national trophy. Did I mention this is a National, annual event?!  The Carolina Hotel is open all year long to any one who's interested in going here, or just to visit! This place is free to the public to explore. While you do, check out the the Golfers Hall of Fame memorabilia of the Carolina Hotel in the main hallway. They have two giftshops in the hotel, both great, a few restaurants that are all very delectable, and a world class breakfast buffet with a chef in the line who can cook you an omelet to your very specific needs, or a state-of-the-art pancake made from him by scratch cooked to perfection, in any way you enjoy, and great drinks like hard lemonade, coktails, beers, and awesome coffee so rich and exotic. This is a world-class cuisine melting pot of all southern foods, and more. Plus, they'll serve you in any way you please. Try not to take advantage of special orders if you must (do actually whatever pleases you, it's just a humorous suggestion).

This place, as I said, is in the heart of Pinehurst, literally. This place is a terrific winter getaway to get away from all the cold from up north.  It does snow here seldomly, but it's really breathtaking when it does happen. Come and visit when you can get the chance, it's really quite spectacular! I recommend this place for anyone! Again, stop by and see what you think, it's a great way to spend time with you and your family or friends or yourself. It's a great place to go to on a weekend noon.

This place is located in 80 Carolina Vista Drive Pinehurst, Nc 28347, and you can call them at (855) 235-8507, or you can go visit Pinehurst.com or on the Pinehurst app for more info. This place is truly stunning! I love coming here when ever I get the chance. The town has a bunch of little shops and restaurants to go to. I hope you've enjoyed this article, and please comment when you get the chance! I'm still writing more when I can, but it until next time, see you soon! My email's under the last two articles if you want to contact me by email if you can't comment!
